Introduction
These prayer projects are presented by the Leap of Faith Small Group Bible Study, as well as other contributing participants, and written by Sean Ray, Colleen Utter, and others.
What's the purpose of this handbook?
The mission and hope is that people will unite together and stand in agreement in prayer for these major issues. All of these issues deal with feeling hopeless, discouraged, powerless, vulnerable, and isolated. These are all a pack of lies from the enemy. There is power in prayer! If you join with the Leap of Faith Small Group Bible Study and the prayer warriors online Ministry, you can help us make a difference with your prayers. Also, we would like to take these projects to another level. Leap of Faith Small group's hope and desire to see these prayer projects reaching out and making an impact on a national level.
Catch the spark!
There are two things you can do to help us reach our desired goal.
- Pray with us using this handbook.
- Tell others about this handbook, so they too, can start praying with us. Our goal is to take this project to a National level and get many people praying about issues that are of national concern to us all.
Finally, know that God specializes in the circumstances that seem impossible. Without God, things are hopeless, dark and bleak, but with God, all things are possible. Drug addicts as well as their friends and family members, needs to know that they aren't alone and that their plight isn't hopeless. Gang members need to know about real love—the kind the Lord and the church family have to offer, and they need to know that violence isn't the answer. The disabled need to have support as well as they learn how to advocate for themselves and one another. No one should have to feel isolated and discouraged. I was watching Animal Planet one day and realized that all the plants and animals need prayer too, but we need to pray to be wise about our earth's resources. To some, it seems like a hopeless and pointless thing to pray about, but it isn't. If we don't take care of the earth, we might not have anything left. If the Lord terries, then, we're in trouble without the necessary resources. Missionaries can always use mighty prayer warriors to support them. I imagine that they might have times where they can feel hopeless, powerless, discouraged, and isolated, as they try to do the Lord's work.
We will be using God's Word to pray with throughout the different prayer projects, as using scripture is very powerful. We tell the Lord that we believe in His many promises of hope to us, the enemy cannot stand. Prayer is the aero that goes straight to the heart of the matter. My heart and prayer is that you, the reader, will choose to believe and agree together with us in fervent, intercessory prayer. Are you willing to see what God has in store for you personally as you pray with us? My desire is that you will have a healing experience as you pray through this book. I know that I've had several healing experiences emotionally and spiritually. So, let's begin this journey together and end up changed people.
This book will have lists of prayer suggestions for a certain population, as well as actual prayers. Testimonies and poems will also be presented in this book. All of this is designed to reach us where ever you're at. Do you feel depressed, misunderstood, victimized, angry, scared, or anxious? This book is for you. As you will read, I started out feeling so very afraid and alone, but I want to show you that we have a God who cares about us and will hear us when we call to Him. He hears us when we cry and knows what we're going through. Turn the page, read the story, and allow us to plant a little bit of hope, and determination into your heart and life today.
